David Gilstrap Award

Each year a fellow in the field of Immunology is honored with the David Gilstrap Award. David was an infant who was treated at St. Louis Children’s Hospital by the Washington University Immunology team more than 20 years ago. This generous award was established by David’s family to honor his memory, and as a way to advance our understanding of primary immunodeficiency.

Discovery Awards

The goal of Discovery Awards is to advance the discovery, diagnosis and treatment for children with inborn errors of immunity. This may include developing model systems and new scientific directions for investigators. Awards of 75K direct cost to be available over 12-24 months with a flexible 1-2 year budget.

Impact Awards

The goal of Impact Awards are to provide rapid support to initiate research efforts related to pediatric inborn errors of immunity, with a focus on clinical and translational studies. Awards of $7,500 direct cost to be used within 12 months.

Eligibility: Full and associate members
Application: Applications are due on the 5th of February, June, and October each year (or the following business day if this falls on a weekend/holiday).

Travel Awards

Awards of up to $2000 to attend a scientific meeting related to Pediatric Immunology and inborn errors of immunity.

Eligibility: Available to Center members who are instructors, assistant or associate professors as well as clinical trainees (residents and fellows) based at St. Louis Children’s Hospital).
Application: Applications are due the 31st of January and August each year (or the following business day if this falls on a weekend/holiday).
